Mission statement for the Akhal-Teke Society of America.

Our beginnings emerged in late 2006 when a partnership was formed to begin the first ever truly cooperative, nationally produced marketing of our breed, the documentary video production filmed at the KHP breed weekend by the respected company HorseFlicks.  This video was completely paid for and coordinated by the Akhal-Teke Breeder's Co-Op, a group of breeders who felt the opportunity to showcase our breed professionally and thoroughly was extremely important, without regards to individual horses, farms, breeding programs, or persons.  When involved in this venture, it became obvious that the mechanisms were in place to continue our efforts farther, so we decided to offer a national organization dedicated to our unique breed.

Our goals as the ATSA are to provide support and assistance to breeders, owners, and even just fanciers throughout this country through unified marketing, promotion, and cooperation.  We plan to provide timely communication of news and events, coordination with the mother studbook in Russia as well as other countries' breed associations, and a streamlined and user-friendly registration system to insure that our beloved Tekes are recognized and included in the worldwide database, as we feel strongly that this breed is larger than us, and not just ours.
