June 15, 2008 -The Festivale of Endangered Breeds, sponsored by the Equus Survival Trust - The dates are Friday, September 5, through Sunday, September 7, now less than 3 months away. It is going to be an exciting and educational weekend featuring not only Akhal-Teke horses, but also Cleveland Bays, Irish Draughts and Caspians, together with a number of rare Pony breeds such as Dartmoor, Newfoundland, Fell, Exmoor and several others. There will be show classes in Dressage, Over Fences, Driving and In Hand, where the breeds will compete against others of their own breed, and the classes will be judged by experts in that particular breed from both foreign countries and the U.S.A. There will also be an exhibition featuring the Historical Costumes relative to each horse/pony breed, together with narrations explaining them and prizes awarded.
For those of you planning to enter horses, be aware that entries close on August 1. If you are planning to bring a Sport Horse, be sure to note that according to the class schedules they must be 3 yrs. old or up in order to be shown.
